Brown Grizzly Bear Fur

I love Fur and many of the bloggers who have read my website know that I do not advocate purchase of new fur but to buy, love, enjoy and purchase vintage furs.  I  do Charity Vintage Fashion Shows with all proceeds going to the hosting Charity and I do use some vintage fur pieces during the shows, and many senior ladies who attend my shows approach me to ask whether I could sell their furs that they no longer have opportunity to wear.    After one particular show a lady contacted me and said that she feared that the coat she had which belonged to her grandfather could be turned into Teddy bears so she was pleased to find it a good home.  When she arrived with the coat I was amazed for I am not a furrier but have never seen such an amazing coat of Grizzy Bear fur.   The coat was made by the AKLIVAK Co. in the North West Territories.    This coat will not be sold and I hope that someone in my family will take it over sometime down the road.

1970s Gold!

Sarara Vintage teaser photo for the 1970s vintage collection arriving soon!

I love when I have the opportunity to purchase whole collections, which are a fashion record of someone's life.  This weekend, I came across a woman's jewelry from the 1970s!  Her entire selection included many chains, Donald Stannard, Monet and Emmons pieces- among others.

Sarara Vintage 70s jewelry collection.
I adore looking through such a chronicle of style. The era has been big for me this week with acquisitions including Elsa Peretti's bean perfume necklace for Halston (1970s new old stock no less) and an iconic Whiting and Davis bib necklace.  Maybe its because I was born towards the end of this disco chic era, but I am digging it.  Stop by the shop as I add these era pieces all week: Sarara Vintage.

I will also be adding the Elsa Peretti's golden collectible bean necklace for Halston. It has the original box, tax, never used perfume, packaging and storage bag!

The perfume is unused as well.  Take a look at this rare new old stock necklace on my etsy shop.  It may appear instead on my new vintage jewelry site Sarara Couture- so stay tuned for its grand opening.  You can see a preview of the website now but only pay pal is working as we speak...soon it will have its own payment system and more goodies listed!

New at Noble Savage Vintage

The dog days of Summer are upon us, with a vengeance I might add.  I don't know about you, but I've spent a lot of time hiding in the AC, which has given me lots of time to clean, mend,  and photograph my ever growing collection of men's and women's vintage clothing and accessories.  Here are just a few new additions to the Noble Savage Vintage Shop on Ruby Lane.  I hope you enjoy.

1920's Linen Day Dress
Breezy 1920's linen day dress with crochet buttons.  This dress is perfect for your Jazz Age and or Gatsby Parties and is in a great larger size to boot.

1920 Sis Hopkin's Midi Blouse
Who remembers Sis Hopkins, not the 1940's version, but the original starring Rose Mellville?  Yes, silly question as she was well before all of our times.  However, this midi Blouse bears the Sis Hopkin's label making it highly collectible and is in wonderful condition making it quite wearable. In fact it looks just fab with the skirt below (imagine that). For more info on my research for this blouse, click here. I had a blast looking into this piece.

1920's Sporty Cotton Skirt
More early ladies"sportswear".  This lovely sporty blue cotton skirt features wrap around pork chop pockets with a pretty white soutache embroidery which carries onto the center front.

Late Victorian Men's Printed Percale Shirt
This was a first for me.  I have had many mens dress shirts with detachable collars and cuffs, but never before have they matched the print of the shirt.  This late Victorian pullover has a fun all over box print and was made by the Oriental Shirt Company.

1930's Men's Manhattan Tuxedo Shirt w/ French Cuffs
This the fist of many men's dress shirts I am working on.  This one dates to the early 1930's, has a Manhattan label and is a great size at 16 1/2.  All accessories in the photo are sold separately and will be available soon.

Silk Plush Top Hat
This silk plush top hat was purchased from R.H. Traver in Detroit around the turn of the century making it late Victorian to Early Edwardian.  It is a smaller size about 6 7/8 but is really in very nice condition.
