A rainy week we have had. I'd say it was good for the garden but autumn is officially here. So despite the gloominess, I hope everyone has a great weekend!
This is a multi-poster blog about vintage clothing, retro life, collecting, buying and selling vintage clothing, vintage clothing history, and personal stories about vintage.

Wallflower Vintage Presents: (Retro) Television Fashions
Emma Pillsbury has become an indie fashion plate on the hit series Glee on Fox Tuesdays. Her sweaters, pearls and brooches are standard fare for her.
Not to be outdone by Mad Men - the 1950s Newsroom drama came alive in the BBC miniseries The Hour this past August.
Christina Ricci stars in the Mad Men-esque Pan Am on ABC Sundays.
The fashions alone are a reason to tune in to this stylish new show.
Zooey Deschanel in New Girl on Fox Tuesdays.
She plays quirky Jess in the most fabulous thrifted wardrobe.Another sixties television show on the tube is The Playboy Club; however, I could not find any appropriate photos - though I do know the ladies wear clothing in the series...
What is your favorite?

Noble Savage Vintage Goes Boho Chic on Etsy
The runways are mad for plaid this season and Boho chic is back. How will you update your Boho look this Fall? Why not start with some essential, classic pieces.
Start with this classic bias cut tartan plaid skirt. It will hug the curves and has a nice flare at the bottom giving you a long and lean look.
Next, why not mix up the decades a little? To keep this look fresh, try pairing the skirt with this lovely 1930's cotton ruffles blouse.

Add a statement necklace or pendant, such as this late 1960's - early 70's neo victorian/ gothic revival piece.
Add this chick black velvet wide brim hat creating an air of mystery and further slimming the stylelines of the skirt and blouse.
Finally, finish the look off with this classic and well constructed hard leather Aigner purse. This purse was made to last and the classics are always in fashion.

*All this ensemble is missing are shoes and a coat. I would suggest a granny styled boot or a fabulous pair of suede wedge boots. Ponchos and caplets are HUGE this season. Wouldn't a black suede poncho or a sweater knit complete this outfit perfectly? Stay tuned as I will be adding a few capelets ponchos soon ;)
The great thing about all of the pieces I have selected is that they are all classics and will mix and match with modern pieces such as jeans, sweaters and cardigans easily.
Don't forget to check out my shop on Ruby Lane and please stop by my Facebook page and "Like" us for daily updates.

Vintage Seekers Celebrates Louis Vuitton Luggage
Vintage luggage from the 1920s and 1930s is now part of Vintage Seekers’ range of 20th century design online.
These rare and highly collectible cases on Vintage Seekers highlight how different the culture of travel once was, as wealthy clients had sets of heavy bespoke luggage carried by porters on rail and ocean liner journeys.
There are three pieces of Louis Vuitton luggage currently in the Vintage Seekers collection. From the 1920s there is an Orange Vuittonite Hat Box and a vintage Louis Vuitton Orange Vuittonite Train Case, designed to carry pairs of shoes on rail journey, complete with its original travel labels on the exterior.

Vintage Seekers also lists a spectacular 1930s cream leather writer’s travel case by Louis Vuitton, which opens to reveal a teal lining and a bureau-style set of compartments in which to transport stationary and books.

Enduringly popular and exquisitely hand-made in France, Louis Vuitton is the most desirable and valuable label in luxury vintage luggage.
Although they may be too cumbersome for contemporary travel, these pieces of vintage luggage make beautiful storage solution and evoke the glamour of the golden age of travel during the early 20th century.
All trunks are available in the Design section of Vintage Seekers
