Wallflower Vintage Presents: 40 some Years Later

We have stacks of old magazines tripping me up between racks of vintage garments - and sometimes I actually get around to reading them. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon the October 1967 issue of Ladies' Home Journal - and this article.

A Miss Kay Bunker asks the LHJ editors how to pack and serve a divine home-cooked meal for a housebound friend. The editors wasted no time finding a deserving shut-in to pamper with Miss Bunker's sweet treats. Oh, and why not dress in a Little Red Riding Hood get-up to get his mind off the "does it hurt" routine. (Seriously, I just quoted that from the article.)

The best part (it gets better than that?) She is invited into his bedroom-office to partake in dinner on his circular bed. I couldn't even make this up.

So, dear readers, sit back and enjoy a bit of 1967.

You're welcome.

So, if you're looking to show up as Clara Barton, wear this.

Or, if you think you'll enjoy a bit of Sherwood in your forest , eh, well um get this.
