How To Make A Clutch Purse Out Of A Scarf

Generally carried for its appeal, rather than it function, a unique clutch purse can add real style to any outfit.

The design of this small evening purse is classic, as it is made out of a scarf.

A sparkling brooch decorates the top flap enhancing the overall charm.

Made from a more casual scarf, the clutch can look awesome with a suit or even blue jeans.

Materials Needed:

1 Oblong Scarf
Polyester Batting
Thread
Pin or Brooch

Lay the scarf vertically on a flat surface.
Fold in half from top to bottom
Place folded scarf on batting. Trim batting to size of folded scarf
Pin batting to lining side of folded scarf
Baste all layers into place
Sew a 1/4 inch seam around outside edges of each section. Leave an opening for turning batting inside the finished purse
Trim corners and clip the curves before turning the fabric right side out
Mark and cut two sections of the purse, the proportions should be 1/3 for the pouch part and 2/3 for the fold
to form the purse, place smaller section onto larger section
Slip stitch along sides and bottom of smaller section to create the pouch
Place the brooch on top
