Project Runway Challenge - From Day to Evening

This week's Project Runway challenge was to design an outfit for Brook Shields to wear on her show 'Lipstick Jungle'. I've never seen the show, didn't even know Brook Shields was back on tv!
Anyway, Brook said her charactor is a professional woman with a 'bohemian' side, who needs clothing that can go from the office to a night out on the town. Keith won with the chiffon petal-skirted dress to the left here.

I had a hard time finding vintage that would suit this challenge, so I had to call on the help of some vintage friends to show me what they had that would fit the challenge.

Elegant Black Wool Satin Trim Vintage ESTEVEZ Suit M

offered by catbooks1940s
An exquisite, exactingly tailored 1940s-inspired suit by Mr. Luis Estevez, circa the late 1980s, possibly early 1990s. Made of jet black finely woven soft wool, with the jacket horizontally piped in black silk satin. It closes down the front with small satin covered buttons and loops, set precisely on each line of piping, alternated with fabric-covered snaps. There is a subtle peplum pieced in separately from the piping at the waist to the hem. Very figure-flattering fit.
Jacket: 38 bust * 32 waist * 40 hips *
Skirt: 28.5 waist * 40 hips * 23.5 total length
