How we love our girls

I love your new girl!!

I have many girls, but this one is my fav. Here in a long ago sold Shaheen.

Bombshell Vintage clothing

Vintage Mannequin

I fell in love. I wasn't even shopping. Well I wasn't suppose to be. But there she was. in a corner. Lonely. Sad and covered in dust. She came out of a museum (think that movie Night in the Museum here she will prob come alive right:)? And she was very very cheap:) Very. Now she belongs to my vintage clothing collection and obsession! She's lovely, she is missing her hands (sad hmm) --- but I can cover that with a hanky and purse:) I put her into a 1930's long cream dress tied with a ribbon and rose and a lovely wide brimmed rose hat. It made my whole weekend! (obviously I'm easy).

eVintage Blog Tag - Maxed Out!

This week's eVintage Blog Tag theme is the Maxi Dress.
We’ve been hearing it nearly every Spring the last few years….the maxi dress is back! Vintage sellers rush to their stashes of full length 70s dresses ready to supply the fashion forward with the real deal. A newer spin by the industry touts the maxi length as a “patio dress”.

I like 'Patio' it makes the maxi sound like a fresh, new innovative style.

I chose several cool items from other vintage sellers -

From docwoman - a great black and white print Patio Dress. She has several cool Maxi dresses currently for sale, so check'em out!

From catbooks1940s - a great Shaheen maxi skirt - this would be great with wedge sandals and a sheer cotton blouse -

From andapanda - a great border print Patio Dress -

From Ornament Gal - perfect for Summer! Wear it to the beach, pull it up over your swimsuit, or wear it to the boardwalk at night.

With great dresses like these, the Maxi is sure to be a hit!

There are only pros - great for casual or dressy wear, easy to make a complete look with just a few accessories, very comfortable, you don't need stockings - you don't even need to shave your legs!

Return to Hats!

I'm having much better hat loading this time round (my computer entirely). (ummm and operator). This is one of my most favorite velvet hats! Plumes, and a tad bit of tattered straggles on the netting but that just adds to my shabby love.!

This is a find from Oklahoma Main Street USA Antiques, great find I love it, I rate it up with my favorite lush pink flower hats!

Hats of Spring

More on hats of spring in the next blog, unfortunately right now I'm getting loading errors!
So I'll share this one wonderful new add to my new special hats aphobia. later.

eVintage Blog Tag - the 1960s

Today’s theme for the eVintage Blog Tag - ..the 60’s. I was tagged by Funkoma

Are you a MAD MEN kinda gal (ritzy cocktail dresses, wiggle silhouette, draped and ruched silk chiffon, pointy toe stilettos, a cigarette and martini) or a MOD dolly (sleek lines, go go boots, oversize sunglasses, pilgrim buckle square toe shoes, paper dresses, micro mini skirts, patterened tights, white lipstick and fake lashes)? Do tell.

I picked pieces from some other vintage sellers -

Every Mod Gal should have a cape, and here's a great turquoise one from A Prize Every Time -

Here's a sweet Baby Doll Lace & Ribbon from Andapanda's Vintage

For your Jackie Kennedy inspired wardrobe - A Pink & Red 60's DONEGAL Irish Tweed Suit from catbooks1940s -

White Leather Pilgram Shoes with Zodiac symbols from Dorothea's Closet

Lucie Ann~Claire Sandra IS Hollywood Glam! (click on the name to see this gorgeous beauty on eBay!)

Created By...Lucie Ann, exclusive of Claire Sandra, Beverly Hills Circa Late 60's

Lucie Ann designed and created all of Eva Gabor's peignoir sets for Green Acres. Lucie Ann, also sold exclusively for Clair Sandra of Beverly Hills, and recently watching a late 60's Brady Bunch, I saw *Carol Brady* (the mom) wearing this exact same gown in pink, and more recently featured on the hit show "Mad Men" in a gorgeous deep slate blue color. VERY HOLLYWOOD!
A breathtaking and much desired show-stopper that is created to close in front with beautiful lon ties with POM POM endings and additional inner ties for a fitted appearance. The POM POM ties can also be wrapped around the waist and tied in front and also simply cinched in front allowing the back to flow loosely, FOR THAT DRAMA DRAPING BACK that is so desired. Imagine OVER 35 FEET OF FLOWING CHIFFON, with creamy soft all nylon lining. I LOVE the way the bodice ties, and gathers for that utterly gorgeous GODDESS APPEARANCE. This is the epitome of GLAM OLD HOLLYWOOD GODDESS GOWNS.

Another Great Mexican Wedding Dress Label

Before Fred Leighton was the jeweler to the stars, he owned a shop in Greenwich Village. There he sold imported crafts and clothing from Mexico, and wonderful ethnic jewelry. He became more involved in vintage and antique jewels, and the rest is history.

Here's the type of thing he was selling; the oh-so-popular Mexican wedding dress. Picture the bride on the beach and barefoot. That was the 70s!
